Breakfast Casserole

...with sourdough bread!

Tired of the same old overnight egg casserole breakfast bake? This one has a touch of Italian flavor thanks to pancetta, Italian sausage and ricotta... GIVE IT A TRY!

"This is a great overnight breakfast recipe to make ahead for a party - you can even freeze it up to 2 months.”

INGREDIENTS

sourdough bread pancetta Italian sausage eggs milk half & half salt and pepper ricotta parmesan fontina sharp cheddar fresh basil

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Saute the pancetta in a skillet until just shy of crispy.

In the same pan, cook up the Italian sausage until cooked through, about 8 minutes.

Substitute bacon or your favorite breakfast meat for the pancetta (which is Italian bacon).

RECIPE TIP

Whisk togther the eggs and milk along with the half and half. And in another bowl, mix the ricotta, parmesan and one more egg.

Layer the ingredients in a 9x13" baking sheet: first some bread strips, followed by the ricotta, ground meats, and grated cheeses. Repeat. Pour over eggs mixture and let sit overnight.
