ribeye steaks, approx 2-2 ½ lbs total sharp provolone, from the deli, thinly sliced garlic powder kosher salt ground black pepper french rolls

Choose a sharp knife for slicing the meat

Assemble all your ingredients

Thinly slice ribeye across the grain

How to thinly slice meat

Divide meat into  equal portions and season liberally with s+p and garlic powder.

On high heat, quickly sear the meat and then flip and reseason.

Meanwhile toast the rolls in the oven till crispy!

Cover each portion of meat with thinly sliced provolone...

...and then cover with a pan or lid to melt the cheese!

Optional:  saute peppers and onions in a skillet. Add some mushrooms!
