10 Minute Marinara Dipping Sauce

Every focaccia, breadstick or calzone needs a partner and this warm marinara sauce is it. Plus it comes together in about 10 minutes which means you’ll be dipping in no time!

I’m from the school of thought that pretty much everything in the appetizer world benefits from a condiment on the side. C’mon…tell me that you’d pass up the opportunity to serve a white cheese dipping sauce alongside a big salty pretzel. Hence the need for this marinara dipping sauce.

It just goes with so many deliciously bread-y things.

Like sausage calzones. No….wait—an unbelivably crispy focaccia bread. Or meatball bocce balls (a fav of the kiddos).

A good marinara dip is not just a suggestion. It’s a must-have.

I especially love it because it’s easy.

It uses spices that I already have on hand.

And I can whip it up in 10 minutes.

5. Sprinkle in seasoning and simmer for 7-8 minutes until bubbly.

Optional add-ins

Like things chunkier? Use crushed tomatoes instead of a can of smooth tomato sauce.

Sauté a little onion in the olive oil before the garlic (this will add a couple of minutes eliminating my “10 minute” claim).

Pop in a sprig of fresh basil while the sauce simmers.
