Here’s a tip: Always keep a bag of butter braid pretzels in the pantry. That way, when someone invites you over and you invariably say, “what can I bring?”, you can pull one of these seasoned pretzel recipes out of your back pocket. I highly suggest you start with these super easy honey mustard pretzels.
You don’t have to cook, bake or turn on stove. No air fryer. Or electric skillet. Not even the microwave.
I’m sounding like I just returned from Whoville because I love that these copycat pretzels allow you to pocket some of your hard earned cash and save some valuable time.

You’re going to see how easy these are to make in a second but in the meantime, here’s some places you’re going to want to cart along these pretzels:
- Tailgate party. Every tailgate has munchie tables to go with all the items that are being grilled and served. Line a cute basket with a themed napkin or towel and fill the whole thing up with some zesty pretzels.
- Wedding hotel bags. Because a salty snack at the end of the evening is never refused.
- Lunch box treat. Toss some in the kids lunch box and I guarantee they won’t come home.
- Grad parties or anywhere teens gather. My teenagers loved when I make any of my pretzel recipes (be sure to check out the zippy Southwest-flavored pretzels).

Ingredient Spotlight
The key ingredient to any of the seasoned pretzel recipes is a butter braid pretzel. Looks and tastes very similar Dot’s, butter braids are twisted to hold all the seasoning while not being too salty. You can typically find them in your grocery store really inexpensively and usually are a local or private label (store brand).
Ingredient rundown
In addition to the pretzels, the honey mustard flavoring took a lot of trial and error. Using my successful and repeatedly tested no bake pretzel method, I found a wet and dry combination that adds all the honey mustard flavor without being too wet, clumpy or overly seasoned.

How to make honey mustard pretzels like Dot’s

Do’s and don’ts for seasoned pretzel success

Don’t skip using the brown bags! They serve their purpose. The brown bags:
- Act as a portable bowl to take to a party
- Absorb excess oil leaving the pretzels crispy, not soggy.
- Can be disposed of without having to wash a bowl.
Don’t serve the pretzels right away. Let them sit for at least 4 hours before serving.
Toss the pretzels in the bag with a gentle shake or two. You can also use a rubber spatula to get all the seasoning from the bottom of the bag.
Speaking of seasoning, it’s ok that some is on the bottom of the bag. You’ll have oodles of flavor.

- This recipe is best made either the day before or the morning of the day you plan to serve it making it such an easy party snack recipe!
- I suggest stirring up from the bottom of the bag every so often.

How do you store these? I want to make them for Christmas & trying to make as many snacks as I can ahead of time. Thanks K.
Hi Karen! I suggest making them a day or two ahead and shaking the bag every so often. These pretzels are on the stickier side so you’ll stir them a little more often so they dry. I then store them either in the same bag or a bowl lightly covered with plastic wrap. If you want one that is less “sticky”, the original pretzels or Southwest ones are amazing too! Hope that helps!
