Here’s what to gather from the pantry:

  • Prepared horseradish. You can use creamy horseradish if that’s all you have.
  • Dijon mustard. I’m simple and usually pick up Grey Poupon (especially when I can find it at Costco) but the purist in me loves Maille Dijon.
  • Sour cream. Full fat is best here. Greek yogurt also works too.

To a medium bowl, add the sour cream, horseradish and mustard. Stir it all together.

Season with salt and pepper and taste. Correct as necessary.

Can it be any easier?

Recipe notes

  • If you don’t have prepared horseradish (which is closest to fresh), you can use creamy horseradish.
  • For maximum flavor, mix the spread up to 4 hours ahead.
